Outdoor pools & swimming lakes

No one has to miss out on refreshing waters in the Bavarian Forest. We have taken care of that! At the Camping Resort Bayerwald, we have plans for both indoor and outdoor pools, and the surrounding area also offers plenty of opportunities to cool off.

  • The Karoli water park: here you will find an indoor swimming pool and a mediterraneum with outdoor pool. Outdoor pool with slide and fun pool to be reopened in 2024.
  • Swimming lake Jandelsbrunn: in the charming village of Jandelsbrunn, located about 6 km from the Camping Resort Bayerwald, you will find a swimming lake with drinking water quality. The area offers parking, changing rooms, sanitary facilities, as well as a children's playground and a beach volleyball court.
  • Ilztalperle: 22 km northwest of Waldkirchen, the first inclusive swimming pool in Lower Bavaria invites everyone to enjoy the water with joy and according to their own individual abilities.  
  • Lake Rannasee: the lake, covering 20 hectares of water surface, is the largest swimming lake in the Bavarian Forest. It features beautiful sandy beaches, a free 120-meter water slide, and children's wading pools. There is also a hiking trail with Kneipp pools, opportunities for surfing and boating, and a large adventure playground for kids along the shore. For the more active, a beach volleyball court has been set up as well.
  • Lake Freudensee: the lake is idyllically situated approx. 8 km south of the Camping Resort Bayerwald with a wide range of facilities for swimmers, non-swimmers, boaters and hikers, sufficient sunbathing lawns are available.
  • Outdoor pool Büchlberg: this outdoor pool may not be the newest, but it has a lot of charm and is very popular among the locals. It is located just 15 km from the Camping Resort Bayerwald.
